one day without shoes.

  1. Katie, I heard a man on Focus on the Family the other day talking about the children in 3rd world countries who have no shoes. He said that the Lord laid on his heart to do something about it. So he walked barefoot from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, stopping in almost every city to see a podiatrist because his feet were so messed up. He said he would let himself walk on rocks, broken glass or whatever to experience what these children must go through. He has an organization that gives shoes to these kids all over the world, but I didn't catch the name of it because I only heard the last part of the show. It totally breaks my heart to hear about kids having to endure that. I remember one time someone sent me one of those "funny" forwards with a picture and some kind of caption that was supposed to make me laugh, but instead it just made me cry. It was a picture of an African child walking on 2 liter Coke bottles that had been smashed flat and made into flip-flops. It was heartbreaking!!!! And to think someone could think that was funny.

Anyway, sorry so long. Just wanted to say thanks for this and I plan to do something about it! I can't go barefoot with my job, but I'm going to send shoes or money, or SOMETHING!!!

    Thanks,
    Allison Chambers

  2. hey!
isn't it crazy? i have watched a lot of their videos, and it's just so sad, but really inspiring to see how they make a difference.
    i love TOMS shoes!
if you decided to buy them, they will also put a pair on a child overseas...not to mention they are incredibly comfortable! :)
    glad you shared that!
